Yeah you read right. This has been the worst year ever any I glade that it's finally coming to a close. But let's start at the beginning. First off, in JANUARY my Dad came down with kidney failure and had to go on dialysis (for those that don't know what that is it is a process of mechanically cleaning the blood of toxins that the body produces because the kidneys can't do it any more.) Then my Dad had to go through four count them FOUR separate surgeries in FOUR months just to be able to go on dialysis because the (place curse here) doctors couldn't do it right the first time.
Then my mom loses her job because the effing economy is a joke, but she's got a temp job with a government agency not too far from where she was at and we're hoping that it turns into a full time position.
In October, miraculously, Dad was able to get a kidney and pancreas transplant (for those who didn't know, my Dad has been a Diabetic for over twenty-three years. Also a pancreas is the organ in the body that produces insulin which metabolizes sugar in the blood.)But at the same time my grandma (My Dad's mother) got sick and we didn't know from what.
Later doctors told us that my grandma had an aggressive onset of Leukemia. (A type of blood cancer that is very difficult to treat and nearly impossible to get into remission in the elderly). And for two months grandma was in and out of the nursing home (I hate that she had to go there) and the hospital. and two weeks before Christmas she was finally able to go back home. But she got sick again a few days later and went back to the hospital.
Wednesday December 16th the doctors said that she would be able to go back home a couple of days. The next day, one week to the day from Christmas, Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 4:30am my grandma passed away. We had a small funeral the following Monday.
So yeah I'm really glad that this year is over and hope 2010 is better for all of us.
Happy New Year - and God Bless!
